Throughout the week of April 15-21, 2024 - as part of the 7th annual National Week of Conversation - community spaces across the country will participate in the Better Together Film Festival. Part of the #DisagreeBetter campaign, the Better Together Film Festival aims to promote unity and understanding through nonpartisan films that showcase stories of bridging divides. The NCA Public Dialogue and Deliberation Division (PD3) call for submissions are open for the 110th National Communication Association (NCA) convention in New Orleans happening November 21-24, 2024. Focusing on the theme "Communication for Greater Regard" - Scholars, practitioners, and students are encouraged to submit contributions that explore the role of communication in fostering greater regard in society. NCDD member organization, the National Civic League, is accepting applications for the 2024 All-America City Award until Tuesday, February 13th! The 2024 All-America City Award will focus on the theme - Strengthening Democracy through Local Action and Innovation. AAC2024 will recognize communities that are finding innovative ways to equitably engage community members in activities that strengthen local democracy, like making it easier to vote, engage in community affairs, and serve in leadership roles.
