Rooted in the values of pluralism, collaboration, and civic engagement, the CCO will shape and execute a cohesive communications strategy that builds public understanding of religious pluralism and inspires action across sectors. Reporting to the CEO and serving on the Executive Team, the CCO will oversee media relations, integrated marketing, digital engagement, and internal communications. The role will unify messaging across programs, streamline communications workflows, and amplify Interfaith America’s thought leadership through high-impact storytelling and strategic campaigns. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator, inclusive leader, and experienced strategist with a proven record of leading communications initiatives that resonate with diverse audiences. Key responsibilities include developing and executing research-backed media strategies; building trusted relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers; guiding cross-channel messaging; mentoring and managing a nine-member communications team; and aligning communications with broader organizational strategy. Candidates should bring at least 10 years of senior communications leadership experience, a deep understanding of pluralism and civic-sector communications, and a collaborative spirit that embraces curiosity, nuance, and bridge-building.
