Position Overview:
The Aspen Institute seeks a skilled Digital Content Editor to lead the creation, curation, and optimization of digital content across its website, social media, and email platforms. This role is central to ensuring content reflects The Aspen Institute’s commitment to equity, collaboration, and meaningful dialogue.

The Digital Content Editor will work closely with the Content Strategy Director and Digital Content Associate to manage editorial calendars, develop engaging social media campaigns, and optimize web content for search engines. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, excellent writer, and collaborative communicator with a passion for connecting diverse audiences through compelling digital content.

Key Responsibilities:
Digital Content Creation & Management

• Create and edit social graphics and digital content.
• Optimize website and email content to drive organic engagement.
• Ensure all content meets organizational standards, maintains accuracy, and adheres to brand voice.
  
  

Digital Content Strategy

• Collaborate across teams to integrate editorial efforts across digital channels.
• Stay current with trends and best practices in digital marketing and email communications.
• Serve as a content strategy resource, managing editorial calendars and major platform content.
• Engage audiences via social media, monitor feedback, and explore innovative engagement methods.
  
  

Brand Voice & Guidelines

• Maintain a consistent brand voice across all digital platforms, aligned with The Aspen Institute’s guidelines.
  
  

Data Analysis & Optimization

• Track and report on web, social, and email performance metrics to optimize engagement.
• Collaborate with audience insights specialists to identify opportunities based on data.
  
  

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with Communications team peers to ensure alignment with larger editorial goals.
• Partner with internal stakeholders across programs and initiatives to integrate content effectively.
  
  

What You Will Need to Thrive:

• 4–6 years’ experience in project management, digital content editing, and workflow coordination.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, or related field preferred.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills for online content.
• Strong project management, planning, and time management abilities.
• Experience with digital marketing principles, content strategy, and analytics.
• Proficiency in creating newsletters and content calendars; Marketing Cloud experience is a plus.
• Skilled in Canva or similar graphic tools.
• Experience managing social media platforms (X/Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) and using CMS platforms such as Sprout.
• Website management experience.
• Ability to interpret analytics and provide actionable insights.
• Comfort multitasking in fast-paced environments with strong emotional intelligence and proactive communication.
• Familiarity with digital audience trends and content engagement strategies.
