This transformative role offers a unique opportunity to shape democratic engagement and civic education at a national scale. Reporting to the Provost of Rutgers–New Brunswick and housed at the Eagleton Institute of Politics, the RDL Director will lead the development of the Lab’s organizational and programmatic structures, collaborate with faculty and departments across the university, and engage communities to advance democratic ideals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a deep passion for democracy, entrepreneurial leadership, and the ability to inspire students, colleagues, and donors. While a terminal degree is preferred, a master’s degree or equivalent professional experience is required, along with proven leadership and administrative expertise. The Director will hold a faculty position at Eagleton or another Rutgers–New Brunswick academic department.
