Position Overview:
The Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life is seeking a motivated and experienced Graduate Assistant to coordinate TX Votes, a student organization focused on voter engagement initiatives. This role will develop and implement voter registration, education, and mobilization programming while providing mentorship to student leaders. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, knowledge of Texas election law, and a commitment to nonpartisan civic engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate voter engagement events, ensuring smooth logistics and administration (25%)
• Guide and support student organization members in their personal and professional development (15%)
• Engage in strategic planning for both immediate and long-term initiatives (15%)
• Develop communications and marketing strategies while maintaining nonpartisan messaging (15%)
• Establish partnerships with campus, local, and national organizations (15%)
• Support recruitment for events, leadership programs, and scholarships (5%)
• Conduct voter engagement workshops (5%)
• Contribute innovative perspectives to enhance civic engagement opportunities (5%)
  
  

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as a graduate student at the University of Texas at Austin
• Experience in team management, event coordination, or related fields
• Knowledge of Texas election law and voter registration systems
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
