Position Overview:
The Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) is seeking a dedicated Program Manager to join the Strong Cities Network, an independent global network of over 250 cities and local governments working to address hate, extremism, and polarization at the local level. This role will focus on delivering project activities with municipality-level stakeholders in British Columbia, empowering local governments with knowledge, tools, and partnerships to counter online harms and build resilient communities. The position will also support Strong Cities programming across Canada as part of its North America Hub.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead project delivery, including stakeholder management with municipal governments, subject-matter experts, civil society organizations, youth, and other local partners in British Columbia (60%)
• Update existing and coordinate the development of training modules to upskill mayors, local elected leaders, and municipal officials on countering online harms (60%)
• Conduct research on municipal-level approaches, policies, and programs related to preventing extremism and social polarization (10%)
• Represent the Strong Cities Network with government and civil society stakeholders across North America (10%)
• Assist with proposal development and maintain relationships with relevant donors, including government and foundations (10%)
• Provide advisory support to the wider Strong Cities team on prevention programming (10%)
• Manage project administration and ensure effective use of project and grant management systems (10%)
  
  

Qualifications:

• Experience working in hate and extremism prevention, social polarization reduction, or community cohesion fields
• Strong project management, written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational and administrative abilities
• Willingness to travel within British Columbia several times per year
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a dynamic team environment
