​As Norma Ramos completes her term on the National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation (NCDD) Board of Directors, we take a moment to express deep gratitude for her invaluable contributions. Over her tenure, Norma’s work has embodied the core principles that drive NCDD’s mission: fostering equitable dialogue, advancing inclusion, and strengthening community engagement to build a more just and democratic society. ​

​Norma Ramos brings more than two decades of experience in strategic communications, civic leadership, and education. As Associate Director of the Institute for Policy and Civic Engagement at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), she has championed innovative approaches to dialogue and deliberation that engage diverse communities in meaningful conversations. Her academic role, particularly through the Dialogue 120 Seminar, has empowered students to explore social justice, identity, and communication across difference—hallmarks of NCDD’s commitment to dialogue that bridges divides.

Her expertise in designing and facilitating public engagement initiatives reflects a dedication to inclusive civic learning.
