Izzy is an energetic and compassionate leader, dedicated to fostering effective communication and building meaningful relationships within her community and professional circles. A recent graduate from Colorado State University, Izzy worked for the last two years at CSU's Center for Public Deliberation with former NCDD board chair Martin Carcasson. She is an inspiring leader who you may remember as a speaker from the NCDD2023 conference panel: Emerging Leaders on Our Collective Future Momentum. Please join us in wishing her congratulations! Izzy is a dynamic communications professional with a strong background in social media management, public relations, and research. She holds a B.A. in Communication Studies with a minor in Political Communications from Colorado State University (CSU), where she earned an Honor Distinction in Research. Her research experience includes her tenure as a Research Assistant in Interpersonal Communications at CSU, where she contributed to grant-funded studies and presented findings at competitive conferences. Additionally, as a Senior Associate at the CSU Center for Public Deliberation, she promoted democratic processes and supported inclusivity initiatives at the local level. She worked with the CSU Center for Public Deliberation for the past two years, where she mentored high school students in the Youth Civic Action Program as they designed teacher trainings to make classrooms more equitable and inclusive. Her work with the CPD brought her to NCDD’s 2023 Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, last November where she participated as a speaker on Sunday's panel: Emerging Leaders on Our Collective Future Momentum. Previously, Izzy served as the Director of Public Relations for the Associated Students of CSU, Colorado State University’s student government where she orchestrated events for over 33,000 students, built community partnerships, and managed substantial budgets. Role and Responsibilities: In her new role as NCDD’s Communications Coordinator, Izzy will be responsible for managing NCDD's communications; including the NCDD News Blog, our Job-Internship Board, all our social media platforms, and monthly newsletter. She will be working closely with Executive Director Keiva Hummel to further build the NCDD network and strengthen the coalition.
