The National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation (NCDD) is now accepting applications for our Spring 2026 Intern Cohort — a remote, flexible opportunity for students and emerging professionals who are curious about community building, facilitation, nonprofit work, and collaborative engagement. At NCDD, we believe meaningful change starts with people coming together — to listen, to learn, and to navigate complexity in community. Our internships are designed to support that work while offering interns space to grow, explore their interests, and build practical skills in a supportive, relationship-centered environment. What Is the NCDD Intern Cohort? The NCDD Intern Cohort is a learning-focused, project-based internship experience that blends independent work with connection and mentorship. Interns join a small cohort, participate in optional weekly calls, and collaborate with NCDD staff on real projects that support our national network. This is not a traditional internship built around rigid hours or busywork. Instead, we prioritize:
Interns typically contribute between 1–15 hours per week, depending on their availability and goals, and work fully remotely. Areas of FocusWe offer internships in the following areas:
You do not need to be currently enrolled in school to apply. Our interns come from a wide range of academic, professional, and lived experiences. Learn more about each position on our website. What Interns GainWhile NCDD internships are currently unpaid, they are intentionally designed to provide meaningful value, including:
Many interns also appreciate the chance to better understand where their passions intersect with community work, public engagement, and collaborative leadership. A Supportive, Human Work CultureNCDD is a small, distributed team that values care, transparency, and continuous learning. Interns are encouraged to communicate openly about capacity, ask questions, and help shape their experience over the course of the term. We know many interns are balancing school, work, caregiving, or other commitments. This program is designed to meet people where they are — not demand they stretch beyond what’s sustainable. How to ApplyBefore applying, please review our Intern FAQ, which answers common questions about time commitment, structure, learning opportunities, and what to expect from the intern cohort experience.
