Essential Partners Strengthens Collaborations & Shares Retreat Experience

Essential Partners received the Healing Starts Here grant from New Pluralists to enhance collaborations in the Raleigh-Durham area. Over the past year, they built a strong community of educators, faith leaders, organizers, and public servants. In May 2024, New Pluralists held a retreat for over 70 leaders from various organizations, including Essential Partners, fostering relationship-building and shared learning. Last year, Essential Partners was selected to receive a Healing Starts Here grant from the New Pluralists to support expanded and deepening collaborations in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina region. Since then, we have fostered a flourishing and mutually supportive community of practice comprising educators, faith leaders, community organizers, and public servants.

Then in May 2024, New Pluralists convened more than 70 leaders from dozens of pluralism organizations, including Healing Starts Here grantees like Essential Partners, for a retreat. It was a rare opportunity to build real relationships with inspiring peers, to engage in shared learning, to celebrate our collective and individual accomplishments, to reflect on challenges, and to strategize for the future.
