NCDD is now accepting applications for its remote, unpaid, and flexible summer internship program—an ideal opportunity for students and emerging professionals interested in dialogue, deliberation, and community engagement. Internship roles are available in the areas of Communications, Democracy Engagement, Grant Writing, Membership Engagement, and Program Development.

To learn more, join us for our upcoming info session, "Launching Your Path – Learn About NCDD Internships," on Tuesday, May 20 at 11am PT / 2pm ET. This virtual session will provide insights into the program, introduce the NCDD team, and offer space for questions.

Join us for NCDD's upcoming webinar, "Rethinking Inclusivity: Expanding the Invitation in Public Engagement," on Thursday, May 22, from 1–2:30 pm Eastern / 10–11:30 am Pacific.

As conversations about diversity and inclusion grow more polarized, this session will explore how we can reimagine inclusive public engagement in ways that resonate across political, cultural, and geographic divides.
This webinar invites a conversation about how today's political climate, while undeniably complex, can help us reimagine inclusion in more expansive and creative ways. We'll explore strategies for engaging beyond the "usual suspects"—intentionally welcoming rural and politically conservative participants, connecting across generations, and reaching communities who often remain on the sidelines of public life.

NCDD 2025 Network Survey: Last Call for Responses - Due May 31st

We're nearing the deadline for NCDD's 2025 Network Survey, which will help shape the future of our community and its initiatives. All responses must be submitted by May 31st, 2025, as your feedback will be key in guiding our next steps.

Gathering Insights for Strategic GrowthAfter our recent strategic planning sessions, we are seeking input from our members, friends, and the wider community of dialogue and deliberation practitioners to guide the next phase of NCDD's development.

"As we're at an important juncture in NCDD's evolution," says our leadership team, "we want to ensure our programming and resources are aligned with the needs of our community as we implement key actions to advance our mission."

The survey, titled "Shaping the Future of NCDD: Insights for Action," aims to gather your feedback so we can inform our programming, identify new opportunities for strengthening the dialogue and deliberation ecosystem, and ensure our coalition remains a valuable space for collaboration, learning, and growth.

Addressing Current Challenges in the FieldThis survey comes at a critical time when dialogue practitioners face numerous challenges, including polarized political environments, funding constraints, and questions about demonstrating impact. By gathering data on these challenges, we hope to develop resources and programming that address your most pressing needs.

The survey will explore your initial motivations for joining NCDD, the unique value we bring to your work, your current dialogue and deliberation practices, and your support needs moving forward.
