Interest in Citizens’ Assemblies is spreading across the US and Canada. A growing number of public authorities are commissioning deliberative processes whilst the public demands new forms of public participation that redefine democracy. This fall, we bring you an opportunity to join the deliberative community, learn from leading experts and practitioners and bring home practical knowledge for your community. The school is designed for civil servants, politicians, civil society members, and private sector representatives who are involved in policy-making and are eager to understand and implement Citizens' Assemblies and other deliberative processes.

This Citizens’ Assembly School is organized in partnership with the National Civic League and hosted by the Consortium for Science, Policy & Outcomes of the Arizona State University.

FIDE – North America and the National Civic League are thrilled to offer a Citizens’ Assembly Capacity Building School hosted by the Consortium for Science, Policy & Outcomes at Arizona State University’s Beus Center for Law and Society at the Downtown Phoenix Campus from October 22-24.  This program offers a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge approaches to democratic engagement. Through interactive sessions with Citizens' Assembly experts and practitioners, participants will acquire the skills and knowledge needed to design and implement impactful deliberative processes.

Registration Details

• The two-day Citizens’ Assemblies School is $400 and includes a kick-off reception, daily breakfast and lunch, and a dinner on the second evening.
• The Democracy Innovations Pre-Con is $100 and includes lunch.
