We invite you to participate in the 46th Annual Convention of the International Listening Association (ILA), a distinguished member of the National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation (NCDD). This premier event serves as a dynamic platform for researchers, practitioners, scholars, and advocates to engage deeply with the multifaceted aspects of listening. The 2025 ILA Convention, taking place from July 30 to August 2 at the University of Maryland, will center on the theme Listening S.O.N.G.—a comprehensive exploration of Self, Other, Nature, and Greater Power. Call for Proposals
The ILA cordially invites you to submit proposals that align with the convention's overarching theme and focus areas, which encompass healthcare, education, diversity, leadership, the arts, environmental advocacy, and beyond. We welcome a variety of submission formats, including research panels, TED-like talks, interactive workshops, artistic exhibits, and posters. This is your opportunity to contribute to an engaging, dynamic program that fosters exploration and dialogue across multiple disciplines.

Important Dates:

• Submission Deadline: January 15, 2025
• Notification of Acceptance: February 15, 2025
• How to Submit: Visit the convention’s website to complete your online application.

Your submission should include a title, abstract, format, theme alignment, presenter details, and keywords. All proposals will undergo anonymized peer review.

A limited number of rooms are available at the South Hill Residence Community on the University of Maryland campus, offering comfortable accommodations with meals included at an affordable rate for a 3-night stay. With only 30 spaces available, early reservations are highly recommended to secure your spot at this convenient and budget-friendly lodging option. Convention Pals Programme
The Convention Pals Programme is designed to foster connection and provide mutual support throughout the event. Participants will have the opportunity to join the Convention Pals WhatsApp group, where they will be paired with a "pal" to share information, coordinate meetups, and enhance their overall convention experience. This initiative ensures that attendees can engage more fully and build lasting connections during the event.
