U.S. Elections - A NAFCM Family Conversation

• We extend an opportunity to lean into an incredibly important moment in the United States. Elections by their nature are contentious. And our nature as community mediators is to support communities to eschew violence in favor of peaceful civic participation and to intervene early, Hallmark 6, creating opportunities for connection and trust-building, Hallmark 8. NAFCM is offering support for any members who wish to take up this mission. Join us for a NAFCM family conversation on Tuesday, October 15th from 11:30 am to 1 pm ET. Together we will discuss strategies and share tools for identifying and working with relevant community influencers in a variety of election-related scenarios. Registration closes Sunday October 13th.

The Trust Network

• The Trust Network is a broad U.S. network designed to prevent violent conflict and build community cohesion. The Trust Network was founded in October 2020 to track and respond to the frequent and intense acts of political violence and hate crimes, which occur across the United States. This event will be Co-sponsored by the Center on Dispute Resolution, Quinnipiac University School of Law and the Arthur Liman Center for Public Interest Law at Yale.

NAFCM Big Tuesday - Focusing on the Election

• October 22nd @ 7pm ET, 4pm PT
• Gather with us for our Big Tuesday open conversation focused on the topic of engaging with our democracy. Join NAFCM and a few of our NAFCM partners for discussions related to how we, through our separate and collective work, engage with the democratic process. We will begin at 7 PM ET and for 75 minutes discuss the many activities happening leading up to and after the election, including short presentations from agencies working on the election, as well as both large and small group discussions. We plan to conclude the event on a forward-looking and hopeful note by discussing action steps and productive approaches in our partners' and members' work post-election.
