Building Capacity Through Evidence-Based Practice

Dr. Elizabeth Speck brings 25 years of direct service, management, and capacity-building experience in New York City's complex human service systems to her work with MindOpen Learning Strategies. Her journey from Teaching Artist in schools, shelters, hospitals, jails, and prisons to earning a Ph.D. in Organizational Development demonstrates the kind of committed, long-term engagement that strengthens democratic institutions.

Her experience adapting to program and policy changes, breaking down systems silos, and building networks of leaders committed to moving beyond the status quo aligns perfectly with NCDD's commitment to fostering collaborative approaches to complex social challenges. As a current Social Innovation Fellow with the Starting Bloc Institute and Fielding Graduate University's Institute for Social Innovation, she continues expanding her toolkit for building thriving organizations.
