The National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation (NCDD) is seeking passionate individuals to support our work in advancing dialogue and deliberation nationwide. While our internships are unpaid, they provide exceptional opportunities to build valuable skills, expand your network, and be part of a coalition working to advance dialogue, deliberation, and collaborative engagement.
You do not need to be currently enrolled in school to apply—our internships are open to anyone eager to make an impact and grow professionally.

Communications Intern
Help amplify NCDD’s voice and engage our vibrant network! As a Communications Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, including creating blog and social media content, managing newsletters, curating materials for our Resource Center, and maintaining our Job and Internship Board. This fully remote role offers a flexible schedule and valuable opportunities to build skills in content creation, social media strategy, and network-building. Democracy Engagement Intern
Help strengthen civic participation through dialogue! As a Democracy Engagement Intern, you’ll support nonpartisan initiatives like our Practitioner Mobilization for Democracy, assist with outreach, and share updates via blog and social media. This fully remote role is ideal for someone passionate about civic life and inclusive engagement. Learn more about the Democracy Engagement Intern role.
Digital Systems Intern
Help modernize NCDD’s digital backbone! As a Digital Systems Intern, you’ll support the development of a new membership portal and website integration, assist with data cleanup and migration, and test tools like Salesforce and WordPress. This fully remote role is perfect for someone interested in nonprofit technology, data systems, and digital strategy, offering valuable hands-on experience in CRM management, web platforms, and member engagement systems. Grantwriting Intern
Interested in nonprofit fundraising and storytelling? As a Grantwriting Intern, you’ll research funding opportunities, draft compelling grant proposals, and assist with tracking submissions and reports. This fully remote role is a great opportunity to build skills in grant writing, donor relations, and nonprofit fundraising while contributing to NCDD’s mission of advancing dialogue and deliberation. Membership Engagement Intern
Help grow and strengthen NCDD’s vibrant network! As a Membership Engagement Intern, you’ll connect with current and potential members, support renewals, maintain the membership database, and contribute to outreach efforts. Program Development Intern
Support the development of NCDD’s programming and events! As a Program Development Intern, you’ll assist with event logistics, member calls, programming communications, and engagement strategies.
