The 2024 Collaborative Journalism Summit will be hosted in person in Detroit on May 9-10, 2024! Join us for two days of lightning talks, workshops, and participatory discussions about a wide array of #collaborativej topics and projects. The Center for Cooperative Media at Montclair State University is hosting the 2024 Summit in partnership with the Department of Communication at Wayne State University and Detroit Public Television. The Summit is designed to be a fast-paced event that is full of sharing and learning. Both days are typically packed with sessions, so prepare accordingly. When you register, you’ll find two ticketing options for 2024: An early registration price of $99 that ends Feb. 2, 2024, and $179 regular registration after that date. We also have low-cost scholarship tickets available to ensure the ticket price is not a barrier to participation. If you need one, just let us know by emailing [email protected]. As usual, the Summit comes with a Code of Conduct and Care policies and our Commitments pledge. Our commitments are driven by our focus on improving the inclusivity of the Summit and the diversity of its speakers and participants. If you are interested in strengthening collaboration between engagement practitioners and media, we encourage you to check out the NCDD Media Collaborative working group! The NCDD Media Collaborative calls have focused on fostering collaboration among media professionals, engagement practitioners, and community representatives to strengthen journalism and democracy through informed dialogue and civic participation. These calls are spaces to discuss ongoing projects, funding opportunities, strategies for reaching underserved communities, and innovative approaches to bridge journalism with community dialogue. We are looking to build collaborative programming for the remainder of the year, leading up to and beyond the election.
