This three-month-long pilot begins this month, and will include lesson plans and grading rubrics to support discussion and debate related to civics, public policy, journalism, and more. If you sign up by February 15th, educators licenses for the program are available for free until April. Learn more about the opportunity in the post below and on FFD's site here. Introducing a Free Civics-Ed Pilot Program!
Forum for Democracy USA (FFD) is offering the Bridge Alliance and Citizen Connect community free access to its licensed curriculum during a three-month national pilot program starting January 2024. FFD is a non-partisan, mission-driven, Public Benefit LLC committed to empowering students to become informed and engaged citizens capable of promoting the welfare of the people, the health of the planet and the preservation of our representative democracy. The pilot program provides pro-democracy organizations, educators and their students free access to project-based lesson plans and grading rubrics for organizations that discuss and debate public policy issues, as well as civics, journalism, speech and debate classes. The civic-tech program can be experienced safely in person or online. During the three-month pilot program, we recommend that group leaders and educators focus on the learning module called Chief Justice, where participants role play as courtroom attorneys and debate timely public policy issues in a mock trial format. Sign up by February 15 for your free Educator Licenses (valued at up to $24 per student or participant) active through April 15, 2024.
