Divided We Fall: Convo with Film Cast and Crew WHAT: A new American Public Television documentary – Divided We Fall: Listening With Curiosity – explores how two groups of strangers equally divided over President Donald Trump were able to come together and discuss some of the most divisive and pressing social issues bedeviling America today. Filmed over two weekends, the documentary features Gen Xers and Millennials who were brought together to discuss what it means to be an American, the divides that prevent unity and how we, as citizens, can bridge those gaps. Through the participants’ discussions around issues of gun violence, immigration and racism, the film shows what happens when people stop sitting in judgment and start listening to one another with curiosity. The film will premiere on Rocky Mountain PBS on April 14th, and on the PBS World Channel on April 17th. It is available to stream now at dividedwefalltv.org. After viewing the film, join the co-producers and two cast members for a conversation about the importance of the film in our society today, the lessons learned from creating the film, and their perspectives on ways that we can help spread the call-to-action for more Americans to listen with curiosity. We encourage everyone to complete this 3-minute questionnaire, and then watch the film, before attending our event. WHY: Having conversations across differences on heavy topics can feel intimidating. Films like Divided We Fall: Listening With Curiosity offer viewers the opportunity to see that it is possible for people to bridge divides and build relationships, even when they hold different opinions. We want to encourage Americans to watch the film, experience the transformative power that listening with curiosity can have on relationships, and discuss with us how the practice of listening can lead to building bridges in our own lives and communities. WHO: Anyone interested in building cohesion in their communities. Please complete this 3-minute questionnaire, and then watch the film, before attending our event.
