Join NCDD2023 Pre-Conference Events Thurs 10/12

The 2023 National Conference on Dialogue & Deliberation is just around the corner, and we wanted to bring your attention to some cool options that are happening the day before the conference - Thursday, October 12th. As you know, NCDD2023 is taking place October 13-15 in Atlanta at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter. Take advantage of the pre-conference calm and more intimate space to connect and meet more folks passionate about D&D and engagement!

9:00 – 5:00 pm  –  PRE-CONFERENCE SESSIONS

• Avoiding Confirmation Bias (1:00 - 5:00 pm) - Presenter: Jamila Mindingall, Executive Director, South Fulton Community Mediation Center. REGISTER HERE 
• Embracing Silence in Dialogic Practice (1:00 - 3:00 pm) - Presenters: Asmi Desai, Assistant Professor, Communication Studies, San Francisco State University; Hoa Nguyen, Associate Professor, Marriage and Family Therapy, Valdosta State University. REGISTER HERE
• Deliberation Bootcamp (3:00 - 5:00 pm) - Presenter: Martín Carcasson, Director, Center for Public Deliberation at Colorado State University. REGISTER HERE

5:00 – 6:30 pm  –  INFORMAL MEET & GREET
We welcome all folks participating in pre-conference activities and conference attendees who have arrived early to join NCDD’s Staff for an informal meet & greet! (Camellia)

8:00 – 9:15 pm  –  EMERGING LEADERS NETWORKING EVENT
NCDD is hosting a pre-conference networking event for young people and students. This will be a time for attendees 35 and under to connect with the other younger conference attendees.
